Qualifications
Once upon a time I was a "real" engineer with an M.Eng. in Electronics from the University of Edinburgh. Then I crossed over into Marketing. Every once in a while I get a little nostalgic and dig out the 'scope and soldering iron for some tinkering, but most of the time being a marketeer suits me just fine. Since my idea of Marketing revolves around knowing your product, market, applications and technology, the engineering background certainly helps. I've retained the word "engineer" in most of my job titles so far, as well as membership in the IEEE and the IET.
